I am a goal-oriented leader with over 16 years of experience solving business problems using contemporary IT, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Market Research skills. I am an expert in applying GIS techniques to spatial analysis, data visualization, web mapping, geocoding, geostatistics, and database management. I have a master’s degree in Applied Geographical Information Systems from Kingston University London, United Kingdom and I am currently working as the Founder and CEO of Slas Technologies Limited.
At Slas Technologies, I am the lead resident innovator with experience creating solutions for the real estate and financial sectors using contemporary IT, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Market Research, AI, and Blockchain skills. I lead a team of experts in developing proptech and fintech applications that connect customers with service providers, digitize transactions, and optimize processes. I also run a YouTube Channel called “Tech Innovations @vostephens” where I share my insights on technology, startups, and personal development.

Project 1: Spatial Analysis of Mobile network coverage, usage and expansion opportunities in Nigeria
This project aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of Mobile network coverage, usage and expansion opportunities in Nigeria using ArcGIS Pro, MapInfo and LanScan. I used data from National Population Census (NPC), LandScan, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Mobile Network Operators (MNO) existing network coverage, and network traffic (erlng) to create maps showing coverage by MNO, traffic usage distribution, customer distribution, and potential new network rollout opportunities by state. I also performed hotspot analysis to identify clusters of high-risk areas. The results showed that locations with dense population and significant economic activities had the widest coverage levels, usage, active customer base, and high cases of poor network quality issues needing immediate attention, while some northern states had significant hotspots.
Project 2: Spatial Analytics for Business Location Selection Using Python
This project aimed to use spatial analytics to help my employers (Zain Networks and Bharti Airtel Networks) select the best location for opening new customer care shops, retail outlets, and to properly dimention Sales and distributions stafs pan Nigeria, using MapInfo, Python. I used data from location intelligent field data gathering APIs, to collect information on existing shops or retail outlets such as locations, age, customer footfall, ratings, reviews, distance, product availability and price range. I also used data from Census Bureau to collect demographic data such as population, income, and age by state. I performed exploratory data analysis, data cleaning, data visualization, and clustering algorithms to identify potential locations based on customer demand and competition.
Project 3: Data Visualization of Network-wide Customer Satisfaction Index Using Story Maps
This project aimed to visualize Network-wide customer satisfaction Index using Story Maps. I used data from Customer Satifaction Index Reports to create interactive charts showing how different regions or states rank on various indicators of satisfaction such as network coverage, network quality (i.e. voice and data quality), customer care support, product availability, product pricing, network of choice, and corruption. I also created thematic maps showing how satisfaction varies by state and region. The results showed states and regions ranked as having the highest satisfaction index, and states or regions ranked as the least satisfied.
Project 4: Web Mapping of network optimization or new rollout Potential in Nigeria Using ArcGIS and MapInfo
This project aimed to map my employers' network optimization or new rollout potential in Nigeria using ArcGIS and MapInfo. I used data from the Network Performance database to create raster layers showing the average capacity (erlng) per site for each LGA, state and regional operations in Nigeria. I also created vector layers showing the location of existing and planned base stations (BTS) in Nigeria. The results showed LGAs, states and regions with high network enhancement or new coverage potential.
Project 1: Customer Satisfaction Survey for Bharti Airtel Network in Nigeria
This project aimed to measure the customer satisfaction level of Bharti Airtel's products and services in Nigeria, using Qualtrics. I designed an online survey with questions on product quality, service delivery, customer support, pricing, and loyalty. I distributed the survey to a determines customers sample size via email and social media. I analyzed the survey responses using descriptive statistics, frequency tables, and cross-tabulations. The results showed that my employer had a high customer satisfaction score of 8.7 out of 10, but there were some areas for improvement such as network quality issues, customer support responsiveness and pricing transparency.
Project 2: Market Opportunity Analysis for Bharti Airtel Nigeria Using GIS
This project aimed to identify the best location for launching new network coverage and new products by Bharti Airtel using GIS. I used data from the Census Bureau, Bharti Airtel Nigeria Geodatabase, LandScan, boundary files, Points of Interest (POI), relevant metadata, and Google Maps API to collect information on population density, income level, economic hubs, and road network by LGA, State and region. I performed spatial analysis, data visualization, and suitability analysis using ArcGIS, MapInfo and GoogleMap to identify potential markets based on demand, supply, and accessibility.
Project 3: Competitive Analysis for Bharti Airtel Nigeria Using "War Room" (built on Tableau)
This project aimed to analyze the competitive landscape of Bharti Airtel Nigeria, a leading telecommunications company using Tableau. I used a dedicated API to receive location specific data, customer specific dataset, and product categories by competitor. I performed exploratory data analysis, data cleaning, data visualization, and benchmarking using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Public to compare Bharti Airtel Nigeria's performance with its main competitors such as MTN, Etisalat, and GloMobile. The results showed where each MNO is strongest or weakest hence provided our sales and distribution team with the competitive edge needed in the market.
Project 1: A Proptech App that Connects property (i.e. Land, residential and commercial buildings) Buyers with sellers (i.e. private and government)
This project team is committed to building Africa’s first integrated property listing and registry platform using blockchain and cloud technology. Imagine offering services similar to what zoopla.co.uk & Teranet Canada offer, but on a single platform to individual users and Land Bureau Offices in Africa, starting with Nigeria.
Project 2: A Fintech App that Simplifies cross-borader Payments to, within and out of Africa.
This project team is committed to building Africa’s avant-garde digital payments platform using blockchain and cloud technology.
